The AV40 is a passive device that will send a standard composite video and analog audio signal, as well as infrared commands over a short distance (less than 50ft), via a CAT-5 cable. This device is bi-directional, and is typically used with the CT 600.3/600.1/300.3 Series to convert the RJ45 buffered output to standard RCA outputs/3.5mm output to link audio, video and infrared control with other audio/video equipment.
